Plastic Logic is looking to crash into the "pro" segment of the e-reader market (currently mostly occupied by the Kindle DX) with its upcoming QUE proReader. The unit uses E Ink Vizplex tech in a shatterproof display the size of a regular piece of paper at 8.5 x 11-inches, and has 3G wireless capabilities courtesy of AT&T and a business-centric ebook store at QUEreader.com which will be powered by Barnes & Noble.

Netbook maker Haleron is now taking orders for a 7 inch mini-laptop with an ARM-based processor. The Haleron Mini Swordfish Smartbook looks like a minor update to the Mio Smartbook Haleron introduced last year. In addition to the new name, the Mini Swordfish got a bump from a 266MHz CPU to a 300MHz processor and a price drop from $189 to $149.

Meizu M9

The Meizu M9 has been a long time coming, but it wasn’t too long ago that the device finally launched. The expectation for the device created some pretty long lines, which was made worse by the fact that Meizu’s CEO still doesn’t have any plans to actually release the device outside of China any time soon. That’s not going to stop independent retailers, though, and that’s exactly what Hong Kong-based retailer DealExtreme is doing. They are more than happy to sell you the device, as long as you can take a bit of a mark-up in the process.
