iPhone Mini: smaller, cheaper.
According to Bloomberg report Apple Inc. is working on new versions of the iPhone that are aimed at slowing the advance of competing handsets based on Google Inc.’s Android software.
The reported prototype of the iPhone Mini is supposedly one third smaller than the existing iPhone and also features no home button. Apple would sell it at a low price mainly because the smartphone will use a processor, display and other components similar to those used in the current model, rather than pricier, more advanced parts that will be in the next iPhone. Component prices typically drop over time. Apple also is developing technology that makes it easier to use the iPhone on multiple wireless networks.

The more rumors we get about a certain event, the higher the probability of it to actually happen. Right now I’m talking about the Verizon iPhone, a device that seems already a certainty. There are plenty of rumors circling the interwebs and some circumstantial evidence that points to the obvious: Apple is ready to sign a new partnership deal with a new carrier in the USA.
The Wall Street Journal and Engadget have been mentioning that the next generation iPhone will be named the “iPhone HD.” There is also reports that Apple will be unveiling the next generation iPhone and iPhone OS 4.0 on Tuesday, June 22, 2010.
iPhone 4S pre-orders will start this Friday, October 7th. The device will hit shelves in US, Canada, Australia, the UK, France, Germany, and Japan on October 14th. In the US, Sprint is a new carrier for the iPhone 4S.
